Need support with your taxes? The Chisholm Tax Clinic, supported by the Australian Tax Office (ATO) and guided by qualified tax professionals, offers free tax advice and services provided by our trained students.
What we can help with
- Using myGov and ATO online tools
- Understanding and applying for a Tax File Number (TFN)
- Guidance on income, deductions, GST, PAYG, capital gains, and more
- Support with tax returns, ABN/GST registration, and BAS
- Help managing tax debts or understanding ATO decisions
Who’s eligible?
The Tax Clinic is for individuals and small businesses who are:
- Based in Australia
- Not currently using a tax agent
- Need help managing tax matters
We prioritise those experiencing financial hardship or referred by community organisations.

How to apply for assistance
- Complete the below application form.
- We’ll assess your request and be in touch.
- Appointments are essential and offered in-person, by phone, or online.
- First appointment: A 45-minute session with a student.
- Further support may be arranged after review by a tax professional.
