Good ideas can come from anywhere in the VET workforce.
The VET Educator Fellowship Program is an initiative of the Digital, AI and Technology Centre of Excellence. It supports VET professionals to develop and trial practical solutions to challenges facing vocational education, from rapid advances in technology to changing industry skills needs.
Successful applicants receive funding and professional development support to develop their ideas into projects, resources or programs. Outcomes are shared across the VET sector to help build capability in digital, AI and technology.
Funding Support Overview
We're looking for projects that create something useful for the VET sector. This could include new learning resources, curriculum innovations, teaching tools, industry-informed frameworks, technology-enabled learning models, or evidence that helps the VET sector respond to emerging workforce needs.
Successful applicants of the VET Educator Fellowship may receive a package of up to $20,000 (eligibility criteria apply), comprising:
- A Project Grant of up to $10,000
- A Professional Development Scholarship of up to $10,000 aligned to the project.
Project grants can support prototyping, software and data access, testing tools, and backfill funding to give participants time to complete their project.
Funding is available for applied research projects aligned to the priority areas of the Digital, AI and Technology Centre of Excellence:
- Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Cyber Security
- Data Analytics
- Robotics, Automation and Physical AI
- Cloud and Software Technologies
- Physical Infrastructure and Enterprise Systems
Projects should address a real industry, workforce or educational challenge and demonstrate how the outcomes could be translated into practical benefits for learners, educators and the broader VET sector.
Successful participants who complete their projects will be recognised as Fellows of the Digital, AI and Technology Centre of Excellence and join a national network of educators and industry partners.
VET Educator Fellowship Application Criteria
The VET Educator Fellowship Program is an opportunity to turn ideas into action, build capability and help shape the future of vocational education. The fellowship is open to educators, practitioners and professionals working across the VET sector who want to explore new approaches and translate ideas into practical outcomes. We welcome projects that address real workforce, technology or education challenges. Applications are assessed on their potential impact, practical value and benefit to the broader VET sector.
