This course is designed for beginners who are interested in learning the ancient process of wax carving
This beginner-friendly course is the perfect way to dive in and create your very own one-of-a-kind sterling silver rings.
Across two relaxed and creative sessions, you’ll learn how to use a variety of tools to carve, shape, and even melt wax as you bring your unique ring designs to life. Wax carving is a super versatile technique – once you’ve got the basics, you can apply the same skills to earrings, pendants, bangles, and more!
What to expect:
In the first session, you’ll explore different wax types, get hands-on with carving and sculpting tools, and learn how to:
• Measure ring sizes
• Add textures to wax
• Build up or carve away wax
• Plan and design your ring
After your designs are ready, they’ll be sent off for professional casting. The course includes 15 grams of sterling silver and all casting fees.
Two weeks later, in your second session, you’ll be guided through the final steps:
• Cleaning up your cast rings
• Filing and refining the details
• Polishing to a beautiful shine
By the end of the course, you’ll have one or two custom-made sterling silver rings to take home – completely designed and finished by you!
This is a fun and supportive workshop, perfect for anyone wanting to try something new and leave with solid skills (and some seriously cool jewellery).
Your safety is important to us! For all workshops, we ask that you wear closed-toe shoes and tie back long hair while working with tools and equipment. We’ll provide safety glasses and an apron to help keep you comfortable and protected throughout the session.
