Jeremy is a passionate advocate for making mental health services more accessible and inclusive, particularly for Victorians struggling financially. He openly shares his personal story of overcoming the odds to inspire others in similar situations.

Jeremy’s transformational journey began with enrolling in the Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD). This marked a significant turning point. Through his workplace and his studies, Jeremy has actively transformed himself from participant to practitioner, mentoring others navigating recovery. Jeremy models stability and demonstrates that changing for the better is possible.

In the classroom, Jeremy’s influence has been profound. He has shown strong leadership, emotional intelligence and a deep commitment to his peers’ success. Often described as “the glue” of the cohort, Jeremy’s enthusiasm for learning elevated not only his own progress but the learning environment for everyone around him. As Jeremy states “I really feel like I could do anything now or at the very least give it a go”.

Jeremy is already making a meaningful contribution to the AOD community by working at Windana. He hopes to continue making a positive impact by ensuring programs remain accessible and sustainable through writing winning funding and grant applications.

With his combination of professional training, lived experience and deep empathy, Jeremy is committed to improving support pathways for those facing financial hardship so that cost is never a barrier to life‑changing treatment.

Jeremy is a finalist in the 2026 Chisholm Education Awards – Vocational Student of the Year.
