
Perin Breakell
Certificate III in Carpentry
Mature-aged student Perin Breakell took up a Certificate III in Carpentry to follow her dream to become a carpenter.
Perin is known for her persistence. She asked 50 companies to take her on as an apprentice, but each one knocked her back. This did not deter Perin, and she has found a small family builder who gave her a chance and never looked back. They are now keen to employ more women because Perin is such a great worker.
Perin won the State Apprentice of the Year award at the 2024 Master Builders Association Victoria Awards. She also received the State Apprentice of the Year – Developing Leader Award and the Metro Apprentice of the Year – Developing Leader Award.

Grayson Cooper
Certificate III in Engineering Fabrication Trade
Grayson is living his dream life after completing a Certificate III in Engineering Fabrication Trade.
During his time at Chisholm, he found his passion and made significant contributions to projects such as a biogas delivery system.
These days, Grayson loves getting up in the morning to do his job because he is interested in learning new parts of the trade and never gets bored.
Grayson was ‘over the moon’ when he started his apprenticeship to become a boilermaker. He has positively impacted workplace culture, reducing turnover by promoting respect and collaboration amongst team members.
Grayson is a role model, mentoring junior staff and demonstrating the values of reliability and professionalism.

Kaine Duggan
Certificate III in Electrotechnology
Kaine has followed in his brother’s footsteps to become an electrician.
During his Certificate III in Electrotechnology, Kaine was always the first apprentice to class every morning and the last to leave in the evening. He enjoyed working with his teachers and felt comfortable asking as many questions as he liked.
The extra work Kaine put in earned him more than 90% in his assessments.
In his spare time, Kaine helps other apprentices who need extra support.

Kalilou Kamara
Certificate III in Heavy Mechanical Technologies
Kalilou’s older brothers, who were truck drivers when he was growing up, inspired him to study a Certificate III in Heavy Mechanical Technologies.
Listening to stories of his brothers’ trucks breaking down, Kalilou decided he would become a part of the solution. He works as a heavy vehicle apprentice and wants to make a ‘real difference in the industry.’
One of Kalilou’s best qualities is his keen eye for detail. He completes every task to a high standard.
Kalilou’s strong work ethic impressed his teachers, who have praised his academic success.

Daniel Lucchesi
Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician
Daniel's hard work on his Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician has made him a top apprentice. He broke his ankle, which was a major setback, but he turned this into a positive by working hard on his recovery and improving his fitness.
Daniel has brought a sense of camaraderie to the classroom. He helped other apprentices prepare for their Licensed Electrical Examinations. He has made his class a more inclusive and supportive space.
He has also won the highly regarded 2024 WorldSkills Regional competition and will compete in the National WorldSkills Competition in Brisbane this year.
Daniel is an asset to his workplace. His success has inspired his peers to aim high and follow their goals.

Amelia Ross
Certificate III in Landscape Construction
Amelia’s love of the outdoors inspired her to pursue a Certificate III in Landscape Construction.
She worked hard to overcome the challenges in the male-dominated industry, proving how capable she was at doing physical, hands-on work.
A natural leader, Amelia mentored other students through challenging tasks and provided helpful feedback. Her supportive attitude strengthened teamwork within the class.
Amelia is now a qualified landscaper. Demonstrating her ability to take on extra responsibilities, she was elected the workplace’s Occupational Health and Safety Officer 18 months ago.

Clea White
Certificate III in Carpentry
Growing up watching her dad work as a builder inspired Clea to study a Certificate III in Carpentry. Clea is a confident leader who would like to manage a building site in the future.
As a student, Clea has shown great determination and drive. Even breaking her ankle did not stop her. She took on a different role in her workplace and focused on her theory.
Clea has become a role model for women in trades and has been a representative for Chisholm at multiple industry events.
She was awarded an ambassadorship for Bowens, which involves promoting new products and training programs for businesses.
