Jade has always had a passion for hairdressing. At school, her friends would often ask Jade to give them a makeover for special occasions, so a career in hairdressing felt like the right path to follow.
Initially, Jade explored several different career paths, but it was through the Certificate III in Hairdressing at Chisholm that she found her way. “I feel like I've found my purpose and it's really nice,” she explains.
Jade is a great communicator who loves making genuine connections with her clients, which her employer and teachers both appreciate. She is thrilled when clients feel more confident after she gives them a fresh look.
In both the classroom and the workplace, Jade brings a strong “can‑do” attitude. She is always willing to step up, taking additional clients when other students are absent, supporting her peers, and taking on extra tasks to ensure great results. Her reliability and enthusiasm have made her a standout apprentice.
Jade’s professional journey has already opened doors to exciting opportunities, including an invitation from her employer to join a hairdressing educational tour in Europe. She is eager to continue developing her skills and actively seeks out professional development to refine her craft.
Beyond her academic success, Jade gives back to her community by volunteering in hairdressing education classes, sharing her knowledge and encouraging others who are beginning their training.
Jade’s long‑term goal is to specialise in wedding and event hairdressing. She has already styled hair for four weddings and loved the experience. Looking ahead, she hopes to become an educator and mentor the next generation of apprentices, and one day, hopes to own a salon.
Jade is as a finalist in the 2026 Chisholm Education Awards – Apprentice of the Year.
